The purpose of the foundation is described in the bylaws as follows:
The foundation aims to promote the steam railway Furka mountain line to preserve this historical of national importance and to contribute the development of the Goms and the Urseren Valley.
It manages an endowment fund for donations and sponsors to finance the repair and maintenance of the constructions and the rolling stock, necessary for the operation of the steam railway.
This task can be fulfilled only in close cooperation with the DFB Ltd., the foundation Furka mountain line and the sections and other partners.
